CHICAGO, IL (February 19, 2025) – Investment Property Exchange Services, Inc. (IPX1031), the national leader in 1031 Qualified Intermediary services, is pleased to announce the hiring of Kelly Pearl as Vice President, Exchange Counsel, Reverse and Improvement Exchange Division.
Kelly Pearl brings a wealth of experience and expertise to IPX1031, having a distinguished background in real estate law, 1031 Exchange transactions, and taxation. Kelly is an attorney licensed to practice in California. She attended the University of San Diego School of Law where she received a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Laws in Taxation.
Prior to joining IPX1031, Kelly spent 15 years as exchange counsel for the Exchange Division of a large national bank, 6½ years as exchange counsel for a large Midwest bank, managing their West Coast operations, and 3 years with national title insurers. Kelly began her law career as an attorney in San Diego, specializing first in real estate litigation and transactional matters and then later in estate planning, trust administration, probate, and elder law.
Kelly was one of the very first recipients of the Certified Exchange Specialist (CES®) designation from the national 1031 Qualified Intermediary trade association, Federation of Exchange Accommodators, and was Chair of the CES® Certification Council from 2010 to 2016 and 2019 to 2023. In September 2012, Kelly was awarded the Federation of Exchange Accommodators President’s Award for her significant, outstanding contributions and, in September 2017, she was awarded The Margo McDonnell Certified Exchange Specialist® Perpetual Award by the CES® Certification Council in recognition of her extraordinary service to the 1031 exchange industry—she is one of only a handful of individuals in the nation to have received both awards.
“We are excited to have Kelly Pearl join the IPX1031 team,” said Hugh Pollard, Reverse Manager at IPX1031. “Her extensive background in Reverse and Improvement Exchanges and her leadership in the 1031 Exchange industry make her an invaluable asset.
