Op-Ed: Lee: Small businesses need smart tax policies

Houston Chronicle recently ran an Op-Ed by Randy Lee.

  • Says small businesses are the backbone of the American economy accounting for 99.7% of all US employers.
  • 1031 exchanges utilized through small businesses ultimately bring higher growth and more revenues for the Federal government.
  • Without like-kind exchanges, businesses and entrepreneurs would have less incentive and ability to make real estate and capital investments, removing opportunity and increasing reliance on debt.
  • Repealing like-kind exchanges will be disastrous to small and medium sized businesses.
