Today, we’re gonna discuss selling investment real estate in Wisconsin and using a 1031 tax deferred exchange. The good news about Wisconsin is there are no state specific 1031 laws.

So you could sell investment real estate in Wisconsin and purchase investment real estate anywhere in the United States to complete the exchange. A couple things to remember. One, you have to buy property of equal or greater value, which is essentially the contract sales price. And two, you have to use all of the proceeds from the sale towards the purchase.
